Mayhem in the nearly-finished craft studio - ORC Week 5
"Creativity is messy & I am very creative."
Sooo…I have a slight problem. I am in the midst of turning an empty room in our basement into an amazing craft studio. With ane week left in the One Room Challenge, I veered off class. The makeover was going along great and I was feeling good virtually posting a final reveal next week, but mayhem ensued when I started organizing all my craft supplies on my new shelves. The quote above pretty much sums it upwards: I've been very creative this week.
Instead of putting my energy into the room makeover that is already 85% complete, I somehow managed to get-go 4 different arts and crafts projects. Oops.
So now I accept an almost-complete craft studio that has been overrun with a mess of crafting supplies. Seriously, every surface in this room managed to get covered in projects this week. And so, I am technically a day late in posting this I Room Challenge update because I spent an entire 24-hour interval cleaning upwardly the crafting commotion and so I could get back to work on my goal of finishing this room transformation for next Thursday.
I'm wrapping up week five of the Ane Room Claiming, where bloggers spend 6 weeks making over a room in their home. In that location'southward just i calendar week left in the challenge! However, yous should know that at that place'south still so many little things I desire to do to this room that there'due south no way I'll go them all accomplished by my borderline.
My goal is to piece of work away this weekend and get everything cleaned up and looking pretty and so I tin can share information technology with you lot side by side week. I love that this challenge has a timeline, because otherwise I'd never stop working on this room! I'm notorious for starting projects that never terminate.
If you're but joining in, you lot can see my past challenge updates here:
Calendar week ane: Gem toned mood board
Calendar week 2: The story of a darling mint clock
Week 3: My idea of fun: Hanging out in the paint aisle

Progress Update
I spent this calendar week calculation shelving and moving all my arts and crafts supplies into the room. I picked upwards two simple shelves last calendar week, and I'm super excited virtually them! With simple assembly and at a dandy price point, I couldn't laissez passer them up. If y'all're looking for open shelving on a budget, this is a good option (and they come in white or black!): Mainstays No Tools 6-Cube Storage Shelf Black Oak (This mail may contain affiliate links which won't modify your price but volition share some committee.)
I purchased ii of the shelving units and had them assembled in a jiffy, which is great for instant gratification. Then I spent quite a bit of fourth dimension sorting through all of my craft supplies and finding them a habitation on the shelves (this is when I constitute absurd stuff and started other craft projects instead of working on the room). Here'southward a peek at the shelves:
I dear organizing with shoe boxes and baskets.
The turquoise basket below is a thrift store observe from a while back. I couldn't resist when it was already painted such a fun color! I use it to hold my yarn….even though I don't actually knit.
I also establish a couple homes for my rolls of wrapping newspaper, contact paper, and vinyl:
My goals for this coming week are to finish getting things organizing and prettied so I have some astonishing later photos to share with yous next week. Thanks for reading!
